I am a massive Harry Potter fan. I was extremely excited to see this latest release heraled as 'funnier than the last', but I was unfortunately disappointed.
I won't reveal the plot too much as it'd spoil it, but basically the reveal of the 'half blood Prince' was poorly executed and there seemed to be a fight scene missing at the end, although my home town cinema had some issues with the film (as usual!), so it's quite possible it could've been skipped over.
I couldn't help but notice how shockingly thin Emma Watson (AKA Hermione Granger) was. SHe didn't look unhealthy...just unusual. At least Ginny Weasley's looks are improving with age, i was beginning to worry!
Wait for the DVD. 2 1/2 hours is far too long for the kind of ending it has.

Animal prints
Yay to that!
We all want to release the animal in us from time to time, right? Tiger print, leopard spots, zebra stripes, snake skin, giraffe print in all colours and intensities.
Love, love, love it! I particularly give a big 'thumbs up' to the natural animal print and the neutral (grey/black/white) versions.
I'm not a massive fan of the colouful interpretations; I think they suit teens better, however it's great to see the print being applied in an original way.
I own a couple of animal print items and am in the market for more, namely a scarf and some shoes. I've had my pieces for over 3 years now and always get compliments and attention when I wear them.
Animal print is such a classic pattern- like the houndstooth and the check- that it's bound to be reinvented season after season. You cannot go wrong in investing in a classic piece of clothing in an animal print.
If you're not a confident, all-over, animal print wearer, don't dispair! Keeping it small is the key to embracing the look without demanding attention.
Start with a hair clip/head band, a scarf, animal print trimmed gloves, some socks, even! If you find you love it, then try some bigger pieces, like a top, dress or overcoat.
Whatever you do though, only pick one to wear at a time. Clashing animals, as is with the wild, a dangerous fashion safari to go on!
Speaking of safari, the natural animal prints look awesome with all tones neutral; bone, taupe, cream, camel and chocolate as well as kahki.
The neutral versions of animal print (zebra and leopard, for E.G) look great with a pop of colour thrown in. Think brights with this one, or keep it tonal (i.e pick black, grey or white to wear it with).
A hit of Red looks stunning to both the natural and neutral animal prints.
Animal prints work for all ages, styles, budgets, seasons and confidence levels.
So go on, don't be chicken!

Aladdin pants- are you cereal?
Seriously...what's up with that!? The complete opposite to the leggings (which have returned in recent years and has now apparently replaced pants), the 'Aladdin' pant, AKA harem/genie pants is the latest fashion.
My thoughts? The crotch is so low it looks like you've pooed your pants! Not to mention the drapey look the pants promote only look *fashionable on super-thin women. Try a pair of Aladdin's pants on (and I did) if you're a regular, curvy woman, and you'll see that all that extra, droopey material serves only to add more weight and thickness to your frame. Definitely not the look you want to go for.
I will, however, admit that the pair I tried on were super comfortable, but even I, the 'regular' woman, want to look good in my lounge wear!
I think that unless you can rock the socks off them (an I've seen a couple of lucky women that have), they should be kept in the dress up box for an I dream of Jeanie party.

"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" movie review
After driving an hour away last Friday night to get to the 6pm session of Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince, and finding out it was sold out due to it being the opening weekend, we hung around for another 2 and a half hours to watch Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. It was so interesting I fell asleep. No really, that was probably just due to a busy week at work and the fact that it went for over 2 and a half hours. It did drag on unnecessarily though...the scenes in Egypt (beautifully shot, by the way) were drawn out far too much. The transforming...the incessant transforming! It was spectacular, but over-done a little. It was surprisingly funnier than the last Transformers with the mother and Transformer, Bumblebee provinding lighter moments. What was annoying was the constant whining by Megan Fox's character to Shiah Labouf's about when he was going to tell her that he loved her. That was referred to about four times! Also (the admitedly gorgeous) Megan Fox's white pants in in Egypt (they never got dirty!) and her cringe-worthy low-cut singlet and constant slow motion running. Yuck! Maybe I'm just jealous...lol
"The Hangover" movie review
Hmmm...all I can say is it's not my kind of humour. It definitely had some 'ha ha' moments, but a lot of the jokes were just try-hard and a little embarrassing. Especially one of the villains, an Asian man with an over-the-top, annoying Asian accent, which he couldn't even keep up throughout the whole movie.
The story is based around a group of 4 mates who take their best friend to Las Vegas for his Buck's night. The future brother-in-law (one of the four mates), who is scarily bizarre (seriously, not very funny) puts the date-rape drug Ruflin, AKA "Rufie", in their drinks at the beginning of the night, believeing it to be ecstasy. The fellas wake up the next morning, one Groom-to-be short, and go on a mission to retrace their steps from the night before, as the Rufie has wiped their memories. There is a terrible cameo by boxing legend Mike Tyson, a tiger and a naked Asian man (the villain), who utters one of the only laugh-out-loud one-liners in his put-on Asian accent as he rolls up the window: "Goo-bye mudda fuckerrrrrrrrrs!"

Dead 'Didge
How shocked I was to watch Neighbors tonight to see the Bridgette Parker had died from a blood clot!
What was witht he weird introduction with Bridgette saying goodbye to her husband, Declan and a toddler version of their newborn, India? That didn't make sense to me at all.
I'm trying to focus more on this blog than watching it as I tear up seeing everyone so upset. I'm such a sucker.
Dodgy Declan though, he won't even look after India. Apparently she has Bridgette's eyes and he can't even look at her. The Parker's are puting a spanner in the works by up and leaving to Oakey and they want to take India. Declan's letting them! What will he do now? Which new family will come to Erinsborough and take on the Parker's house?
On the upside, I think the writers were clever by lightening up the mood with the cake-baking competion held by some of Ramsey streets other residents, who all, strangely, congregated at Susan and Karl's to talk about Bridgette.

Masterchef melancholy
I don't know about you, but without Masterchef on our TV screens at 7PM each evening, I'm at a loss as to what to do!
The recipes as interesting as the cooks. The finale was so emotional. I cried along with Julie, George and Gary. Even the fact that Manu Fidel, famous French chef, was crying was a testiment to the impact that Julie had on people. I'm so glad she won over Poh. Somehow, in my eyes, she just didn't seem deserving having being eliminated weeks earlier.
So what to do now?
Sure, I could watch Channel 10's heavily advertised '7PM project', but i'd rather read the Herald Sun for news. It's much more informative, and the unnecessary crap is easier to filter. Plus Dave Hughs's voice is annoyingly whiney. Don't we see/hear enough of Carrie Bickmore and Dave Hughs on Rove anyway?
There is always 'A Current Affair' with the grave-looking Tracey Grimshaw, but all they seem to show is exactly that: affairs and love rats, with a sprinkling of 'hard done by' thrown in. Hardly worth reporting on.
Cooking dinner is so uninspiring now... better dig out my Donna Hay recipe books again!
